When you become a mother, life changes in so many ways. No-one can prepare you for what it might be like and every person’s experience is different. Whether you had a baby last week or 20 years ago, there may be challenges that you need some support with. Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety, trauma, depression, loss of identity, burn-out or you are just generally feeling overwhelmed with life. If so, I can help.

Counselling provides a rare opportunity for you to be able to talk about your thoughts and feelings in a confidential and non-judgemental setting. The aim of Counselling is to offer you the right environment within which you can freely explore what’s going on for you. Many clients that come to me want me to take away the ‘chaos’ that’s going on inside their head, they want clarity of thought, less overwhelming emotions. What I can offer is an opportunity for you to look at all of these things, to try and understand why you might be feeling the way you do, explore, discuss and hopefully normalise some of those things for you and help create clarity and, with it, a way forward.

I am an experienced Counsellor/Psychotherapist with a first degree in Psychology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists. I also work as a Therapeutic Supervisor and Helpline Trainer for the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre in Guildford.

I currently work with adult individuals aged 19 years and above.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I am now offering telephone and virtual appointments.

If you would like to discuss your needs and find out more about how I work, please phone, text or email me:

All methods of communication are completely confidential.

I offer counselling fees on a sliding scale to try and make my services available to as many people as possible. We will agree your ongoing counselling fee together at the initial consultation.

I understand childcare can be costly, so I welcome babies to the session if you feel comfortable bringing them along. This usually works better if they are happy to sit on a lap (yours or mine) or in a car seat.

I offer Face-to-Face or Telephone Counselling for adult individuals at the following rates:

Initial Consultation

Daytime: £60 per 50 minute session

Evening: £65 per 50 minute session

Now offering telephone and virtual sessions.

Ongoing Counselling Fees

Weekday: £60 – £90 per 50 minute session
Evening:  £65 – £95 per 50 minute session

Now offering telephone and virtual appointments.

About Me

Hi, my name is Helen and I am mum to two beautiful children. I am also a Counsellor/Psychotherapist who spent many years working in management so I really understand the challenges of trying to juggle being a mum, work, study and personal life and how important it is to seek support when it is needed.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a Counsellor and I feel so lucky and privileged to be doing a job that I love. My private practice has evolved, in line with my passion, and I now find myself working primarily with mums who are struggling with the challenges that parenthood may bring.

I find this work hugely rewarding as I often find my clients rediscovering themselves, regaining confidence and creating a more balanced life. Offering space and time away from the demands of life, seems to enable my clients the opportunity to ‘catch up’, to gain clarity of thought, to think again, to feel, to grieve losses and to celebrate successes. This process of pausing and processing, seems so important in order for life to continue on in a different way.

As part of my studies I had my own Psychotherapy for two years so I understand the difficulties that can be experienced around this process whilst fully appreciating the life-changing benefits that it can bring.

If you think it might be what you need, but you’re not sure, please just give me a call to discuss.
